mPower detectors globally recognized through ATEX certification

June 20, 2019 by mPower Electronics

Another milestone for mPower Electronics Inc. this week with news that two of our popular gas detectors are ATEX certified.
Brent Yaschuk, VP of Sales and Marketing, said the UNI and UNI 321 both received ATEX certification, which is a European Union directive that stands for “atmospheres explosibles” and covers equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive environments.
“Receiving the ATEX certification for these two detectors is an honour for mPower,” said Yaschuk. “This provides our customers the assurance that these detectors are globally recognized for high safety standards.”
Yaschuk explained that the ATEX directive is similar to an OSHA or NEC standard in the United States. “Any equipment that is going to be used in Europe must meet these standards,” he said.
“Our mPower detectors are ideal for situations covered by ATEX,” added Yaschuk. “The UNI offers a simple portable solution for toxic gases and oxygen applications, with sensors for a wide variety of gases ranging from hydrogen sulfide and nitrogen to less common gases like phosphine or ethylene oxide.”
Meanwhile, our UNI 321 maintenance-free single gas detector is a disposable version of the UNI single gas monitor available for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide or oxygen.
